Clip cost = plan price ÷ credits it includes × credits one 10-second clip takes, on each tool's cheapest paid plan. HeyGen: Creator $29 ÷ 600 credits × 150 credits (generated b-roll via Seedance 2 at 1080p is a flat 150 credits per clip regardless of length; 720p is 60 credits, about $2.90). When HeyGen is the better pick
Talking-head explainers, training and localisation at scale, where a consistent presenter reading a script matters more than generated footage. HeyGen's avatar and translation tooling is deeper than ReelMint's.

When the video is a means to a post. ReelMint prices each render before you click, lets you pick the model per job, and then publishes to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X from the same screen, or hands the whole loop to a bot that posts every day. $29 buys about 43 ten-second clips a month.

- Avatar video is billed per minute (a photo avatar is about $0.77 per minute on Creator), which is good value for long talking-head pieces.
- Generated footage is billed per clip at a flat rate, so a 10-second b-roll shot costs the same as a long one.
- 4K export starts on Pro; the free tier is three one-minute videos a month with a watermark.

Questions
HeyGen or ReelMint for a talking photo?
Both do it. ReelMint's talking photo takes a portrait and a line (or your cloned voice) and bills per second of audio, shown on the button; HeyGen bills avatar minutes on a subscription and adds translation and many stock presenters. For a presenter-led series HeyGen is stronger; for a short clip that goes straight to TikTok, ReelMint.
Why is HeyGen's clip price so high in the table?
The table costs a 10-second generated text-to-video clip at 1080p, and HeyGen bills its generated b-roll at a flat 150 credits per clip. HeyGen is not built for that job; its per-minute avatar pricing is the fair comparison for talking-head video.
Does HeyGen post to social networks?
Not itself; it recommends third-party tools. ReelMint publishes to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X from the same screen and can schedule or automate the posting.
