How to Schedule Social Media Posts Per Platform, to the Minute

Give each platform its own post time: TikTok at 9:00, Instagram at 18:00. How ReelMint schedules, refreshes logins and lets you cancel before posting.

To schedule social media posts per platform, open the video in ReelMint, press Share, tick the destinations, and set a separate date and time on each destination's tab: TikTok at 9:00, the YouTube Short at 12:30, Instagram at 18:00. The scheduler checks every minute, so each post goes out at the minute you set, and every scheduled post is listed on the dashboard until it does.

We build ReelMint, an AI video studio that publishes to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X. Most schedulers give a post one time for every platform. We give each destination its own, because the best hour for TikTok is rarely the best hour for a Facebook Page. This guide covers how it works and what happens behind it.

Step 1: connect your channels

In Channels then Connections, press Connect on each platform and approve the publishing permission on its own sign-in page. Connecting needs no subscription; a plan is needed to post. Several accounts per platform are fine. See connect your channels.

Step 2: open the video and pick destinations

Open any video in your Library, or a fresh result in the studio, and press Share. Tick the connected channels you want. Each one gets its own tab with its own caption, hashtags and, for YouTube, title, description, tags, category, playlist and visibility.

Step 3: set a time on each tab

Choose Schedule for later and set a date and time per destination, in your own timezone. A video can go out now on one platform and tomorrow evening on another. Confirm, and each destination becomes its own scheduled post.

What happens at the minute

A dispatcher runs every minute. When a post's time arrives, it moves the post from scheduled to queued in a single step, so even if the dispatcher fired twice, the post would be sent once. A 6:00 post goes at 6:00, not "sometime after six".

Each scheduled destination is a separate job. If Instagram is rate-limited, your TikTok and YouTube posts still go out on time.

Logins are refreshed before the post

Platform access tokens are short-lived: Google's last about an hour, X's about two hours, TikTok's about a day. A token that expired overnight is the classic reason a 6 AM post never happens. ReelMint keeps sessions alive in two places:

  • A background sweep every 15 minutes renews every connection that will expire within the next two hours, so a token is usually fresh before anything needs it.
  • A check right before every publish renews the token if it has less than 10 minutes left. If that renewal cannot happen, the post still tries with the stored token rather than refusing; a token that might still work beats a guaranteed miss.

Facebook and Instagram are different: Meta tokens can only be swapped for a fresh long-lived one while still valid, which is exactly why the sweep runs on a schedule instead of waiting for a post. If a renewal fails, you get one notification naming the account and linking to the reconnect page, ideally hours before the post it would have broken.

The dashboard list

The Scheduled posts page lists every queued publish, soonest first, grouped by day, with a filter per platform (All platforms, TikTok, YouTube, and so on). The count at the top says how many publishes are queued. Empty, it reads "Nothing scheduled" and points you to the Library.

Change or delete a post before it goes out

From the list, open the post to change it or cancel it. Until the minute arrives, nothing has been sent to the platform, so cancelling leaves no trace there. After it goes live, you get a notification titled as a scheduled post that went live, with its link.

When the platform says no

  • A temporary failure is retried quietly up to three times, after 30 seconds and then 2 minutes. After the third, you get a notification and an email with the platform's reason.
  • A rate limit (Meta's anti-spam throttle, TikTok's spam-risk flag, a 429) is not retried. That destination is paused for six hours, the pause shows on the dashboard, and it lifts by itself. While paused, posts to it fail fast instead of prolonging the block.
  • YouTube's daily upload limit pauses that channel for 24 hours, because the limit is a rolling 24 hours.
  • Not enough credits for an X post (2 credits) fails that post without sending it.

Upscale, then post

If you ask for an upscale before sharing, the post waits for the upscaled video and then publishes that version, at its scheduled time or as soon as the upscale lands. If the upscale fails, the original is published and you are told, because you asked for a post to go out.

What it costs

Scheduling costs nothing, and publishing costs no credits except an X post (2 credits, returned if it fails). The optional AI caption is 1 credit and hashtag research is 5. Generating the video is what spends credits, priced on the Generate button before you click. Plans start at Lite, $9.99 a month for 800 credits.

Scheduling every day without opening the app

A schedule is one video at one time. A Bot Studio bot is a standing recipe: it generates a new video at the time you set, daily or on chosen days, writes each platform's copy and posts it. See autopilot and the connect and auto-post tutorial. The scheduling help article is the short version of this page.

Can I schedule the same video at different times on different platforms?

Yes. Each destination tab has its own date and time, and each becomes its own scheduled post.

How exact is the scheduled time?

The dispatcher runs every minute, so a post goes out at the minute you set.

What if my login expires before the post?

ReelMint renews connections in the background every 15 minutes and again just before each publish. If one cannot be renewed, you get one notification asking you to reconnect.

Can I cancel a scheduled post?

Yes. Open it from the Scheduled posts list and cancel it before its time. Nothing reaches the platform until then.
